Combine a new wave DJ artist, Kaz Gamble, with a sultry female lead vocalist, Sisely Treasure, and you get Cooler Kids. Their group name implies their music style, which is indeed “cool.” Cooler Kids produces the kind of catchy musical tunes that you find yourself singing and grooving along to in the shower or in the car.

The story behind Cooler Kids reads like a fairytale. A handsome boy named Kaz, better known as DJ Kazimir, met a playful young girl named Sisely. Thanks to AOL and its member’s directory, they were able to meet and engage in musical exchange. Instead of falling in love, they decided to start a group called Cooler Kids and lived happily ever after in a musical wonderland.

The kids shine with clever electronic beat manipulations, and with songs like, “Sugartown” and “E Is For Everybody,” they sound like a naïve and energetic version of Everything But The Girl.

The pair possess a vintage new wave look, and they seem to be telling us through their music and look that life should be frivolous, fun and above all cool.

Their bubble gum disco funk rhythms can be heard in their first hit, "All Around The World (Punk Debutante)," which has made it onto the Top 10 Billboard charts in "Club Play." With hooks and catchy wordplay, they drown listeners with a deluge of disco-pop sounds and creative percussion beats.

Dominated by colorful upbeat sounds, Cooler Kids is good dance and party music. It is unfortunate that their lyrics of materialistic possessions and egotistical envisions lack the innovation and authenticity of their beats. Their lyrical style has simply been overdone in the club scene realm, but their fresh beats can sometimes overcome the stale message.

“Viva La Fever” is another song off their album “Punk Debutante,” which has been released on DreamWorks Records. Unlike their debut hit, this song is dreamy yet branded with gala and obscured by a cacophony of sugar pop funk beats. As the sounds twist and churn, club kids and listeners seem to be hypnotized into doing the same with their bodies. This is the magic that Cooler Kids bring to their music. It is their kaleidoscope of imaginative music mixes and vintage rhythms that have mounted them onto club scene popularity.
