Leon Lai By Sara Stokoe The multi-talented actor/recording artist Leon Lai, was born in Beijing in December of 1966. At the age of four, he moved to Hong Kong with his parents where he was raised as an only child with his mother, a housewife, and his father, a powerful CEO of a major cell phone company. He received his education at Christ College (secondary school) and at King’s Way Princeton College in England. In 1990, despite his desire to become a police officer, Lai started his singing career by signing with one of Hong Kong’s most powerful record companies, Polygram. Immediately, his first two albums reached number one on the IFPI album board. Currently, he is one of the highest paid singers in Hong Kong! But don’t forget that he is also an actor! Besides acting in “Three,” in 2002, he played in “Dream of a Warrior,” and “Bullets of Love” in 2001, as well as a number of films previous to that that we don’t have time to mention here.
